When it comes to an annual physical exam from your doctor, we most often think about our children needing one for school sport participation. However, physicals should also be part of every adult’s health maintenance. Therefore, if you haven’t booked an appointment for 2018, we recommend that you either give us a call or call your primary care physician. In 1997, I (Dr. David Berg) opened my first healthcare clinic and had no idea how to run it. I had just moved from Canada and didn’t have any experience in the U.S. healthcare system. My first year in business I went broke and basically treated people for free. The move itself was a big risk for me and my lack of knowledge was apparent – I even had two Canadian holidays built into the holiday schedule because I didn’t know any better (though our team didn’t mind). The only way out for me was to ask the people around me and my customers what I should do. And they told me. They didn’t like being put on hold, parking in the back, having to wait too long to be seen and they certainly didn’t like copays. Dan Sullivan says, “The customer is your 50 percent partner” and in our case, this could not be more true. [Read more…] about The Redirect Health Story

Redirect Health CEO and co-founder Paul Johnson is November’s featured speaker at Arizona State University’s Health Entrepreneurship Accelerator Lab (HEALab) LIVE @ HEAL speaker series.
Paul will discuss disrupting the status quo when it comes to healthcare, specifically how the current healthcare system is focused on how we pay for healthcare rather than how much we pay for healthcare—and how we can fix that by cutting out waste, fraud and abuse.
Paul’s session is on Wednesday, November 8 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the HEALab on the first floor of ASU’s Taylor Place Residential Community in downtown Phoenix.
The HEALab is a partnership between ASU’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation program and the College of Nursing and Health Innovation that helps ASU students and faculty launch initiatives focused on health and healthcare solutions.
Redirect Health CEO Paul Johnson spoke with KTAR’s Bruce St. James and Pamela Hughes about President Trump’s recent healthcare executive order, and how it could play out for the nation’s healthcare system.
Paul discussed positive and negative aspects of the order and addressed common misconceptions from opponents of the plan. He noted that federal departments are still bound by the Affordable Care Act as federal law, so it is unclear how they will choose to work around it to implement the president’s promises.
Paul stated that we can fix our healthcare problem by reducing costs, nationalizing healthcare and allowing the industry to operate more like a free market.
