Dr. Johnston is the Chief Medical Officer of Redirect Health Medical & Surgical Centers and a family practice provider who also specializes in pain management services as the leader of our multi-specialty team. She founded Redirect Health’s Safe Skin Program, and is passionate about helping people with the early detection and treatment of this deadly disease. She’s also a music lover who regularly waves a lighter at local blues and jazz venues.
Anthony Nelson is a certified Physician Assistant and a member of the primary care team at Redirect Health Medical Centers.
Becky is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Family Practice. She has her Masters in Nursing and has worked in critical care, pediatric, and family practice for over 30 years. She enjoys providing care to her patients that is seamless, efficient, and complete. She always wants her patients to feel that their concerned have been listened to and addressed. Becky is a married mother of 2 and grandmother of 2 who loves to go hiking, roller blading, singing, and reading. Growing up in Brazil, she is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Khuat is a dedicated and compassionate provider with a profound interest in improving the lives of her patients. Her clinical interests include diabetes management and movement disorders. Dr. Khuat works closely with her patients, empowering them to take control of their health through education, lifestyle modifications, and personalized treatment plans. She is particularly passionate about helping patients navigate through conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremors, and dystonia. Dr. Khuat is committed to enhancing the mobility and quality of life of all her patients. As an advocate for daily movement, Dr. Khuat stays active by practicing yoga, aerial acrobatics, and cycling. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, needle felting, ceramics, and all things chocolate.
Dr. Hug is a naturopathic resident with Redirect Health. As a naturopathic doctor, she focuses on the root cause of illness and uses many tools to address disharmony in the body including proper diagnosis, conventional medications, dietary modifications, supplements, botanical medicines, and lifestyle alterations. These tools are useful for both acute and chronic ailments. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and identifying the various local medicinal plants in Arizona.
Dr. Homan Rabizadeh (aka “Dr. R”) received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from SUNY Farmingdale State College. During this time, he worked as a research intern for a Biopharmaceutical company where he concentrated on the development of vaccines for head and neck carcinoma.
Dr. R later pursued an M.S. in Physiology and Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM) from Georgetown University in 2012. After graduation, Dr. R worked as an Adjunct Professor teaching Anatomy & Physiology courses. In 2014, Dr. R began his studies at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Arizona where he obtained his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. R joined Redirect Health in 2021 as a third-year resident, and looks forward to helping people by encouraging disease prevention through lifestyle changes and promoting nature cure. His areas of focus include Cardiovascular Disease, Men’s Health, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Anti-Aging Medicine, and has received extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine.
In his personal time, Dr. R enjoys learning about aviation and meteorology; he is a certified student pilot and plans to complete his flight training in the near future.
Dr. Pessin is a Chiropractor who is a member of the physical rehabilitation team at Redirect Health Centers.
Dr. Shah is a highly-skilled physician who is double boarded in interventional pain medicine and anesthesiology. He is a member of the pain & injury management team at Redirect Health Centers, where he serves as the Director of Pain & Anesthesia. Dr. Shah understands how pain can disrupt all aspects of daily living and is passionate about utilizing multimodal approaches to decrease pain, increase function, and overall improve quality of life. He was raised in Arizona and in his free time enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and showing his passion for all Arizona sports teams.
Dennis is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a wide range of experience in Family Practice, Surgery, Critical Care and Emergency medicine. Dennis brings a diverse range of skills and knowledge to his practice. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of primary care and the unique healthcare needs of individuals across different age groups. Additionally, his background in Surgery care equips him with the expertise necessary to provide specialized care to surgical patients. Furthermore, his experience in Critical Care, and Emergency medicine allows him to handle critical situations with skills and composure. Through his commitment to fostering open dialogue and creating a supportive environment, he ensures that patients feel comfortable sharing their healthcare needs and goals. Dennis’s passion for travel and his dedication to family time reflect his understanding of the importance of self-care and balance in providing the best care to his patients.
Elizabeth is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Family Practice with a background in Orthopedic Nursing. She was born and raised in the Caribbean and moved to Arizona in 2003. She is a big fan of cooking, walking her dogs, the beautiful Arizona hiking trails, and catching the sunset.
Jaime Maratta is a board-certified adult health Nurse Practitioner who is part of the primary care team at Redirect Health Centers. She especially loves helping people with senior care and women’s health topics. Jaime graduated from Rutgers University in 2007 with her Master of Science in Nursing.
Jessica is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Neurology and an interest in Endocrinology. She love making a difference in her patient’s lives and enjoys building a relationship with them and working on positive health goals together. Jessica was born in Rhode Island, but grew up in Florida. She enjoys running, doing yard work, and spending her time at the beach or by the pool.
Juine is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in gastroenterology and is part of the primary care team at Redirect Health Centers. She is able to assist her patients in both English, Spanish, and Malayalam and enjoys providing them quality care by helping treat acute conditions, managing chronic care, and promoting women’s health and preventative medicine. Juine was born and raised in India until she moved to the U.S. at 13. She is passionate about being a healthcare provider and feels rewarded helping members and patients. In her free time, Juine enjoys traveling, playing the violin, and spending time outdoors with her 3 children and her husband.
Katherine is a certified Physician Assistant who is part of the primary care team at Redirect Health Centers. She joins the company with over 10 years of experience. She is passionate about serving the community, and is committed to providing quality care.
Kendra is a certified Physcian Assistant who is part of the primary care team at Redirect Health Centers. Originally from central Minnesota, Kendra completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota in 2011 before earning her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University in 2014. Kendra finished her rotations in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine as well as Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery. Kendra enjoys seeing people for well exams and acute indications, especially those with musculoskeletal concerns. In her spare time, you can catch Kendra cheering for her beloved Minnesota Vikings.
As a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Laura possesses the expertise required to address the diverse needs of individuals and families across the lifespan. Through her specialty experience in Pain Management, Addiction, and Emergency medicine, she has developed a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges faced by patients in these areas.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Laura dedicates her free time to giving back to her community. She volunteers her expertise and services, providing free healthcare to those who are less fortunate and lack access to medical resources.
When not caring for patients, Laura enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones. She values personal connections and believes in the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Engaging in activities that rejuvenate her spirit and nourish her well-being enables her to bring renewed energy and enthusiasm to her professional endeavors.
Lisa is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with additional specialized certification in neuroscience (brain and spinal cord). Lisa brings over a decade of experience in neuroscience, prevention programs, and administrative and clinical trauma specialties.
Maxine Stewart is a family nurse practitioner who is passionate about bringing affordable, comprehensive health care to all individuals. She’s also a chiropractor (NY). Maxine started her nurse practitioner journey after spending almost a decade working with homeless and medically disadvantaged individuals. She regularly dabbles in home remodeling projects as a weekend warrior. Maxine loves to travel and read; she’s also the author of a patient-centered book “Making Sense of Doctor Talk: How To Get The Most Out Of The Healthcare System” that makes sense of common doctor language that often sounds like medical nonsense.
Michelle is a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Family Practice. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Program here in Arizona, at Grand Canyon University.
Michelle has worked in various clinical settings but considers her work with burn patients to be where she really learned the multimodal approach to care. Michelle values taking time to individualize treatment for her patients to ensure all their needs are addressed.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys reading, going to concerts and finding a good local coffee shop.
Robert Byrne is a Chiropractor who is a member of the physical rehabilitation team at Redirect Health Medical Centers. His Redirect Health roots run deep, as he discovered his love for medicine as a teenager while working as a Patient Services Specialist and Chiropractic Assistant in the original Redirect Health (formerly Arrowhead Health) Medical Center on 74th Avenue and Bell Road. Now, with more than 13 years of experience in the medical industry, he is passionate about helping people of all ages live long, healthy, happy lives. Dr. Byrne believes strongly that holistic healthcare and a multi-specialty approach to wellness are the most efficient ways for people to reach their best possible health outcomes. When he’s not in the office caring for people, you can find him hitting a few golf balls or cheering on Arizona sports teams with his wife.

Wendy is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is part of the care team at Redirect Health. She enjoys helping members take control of their healthcare journeys and helping them be proactive with their health. Wendy is an Arizona native that grew up on a farms. She enjoys spending her time doing yoga, hiking, bird watching, and gazing at the stars, the moon, and the beautiful Arizona sunsets.
Ashley is a certified Physician Assistant and Master of Medical Science who is part of the primary care team at Redirect Health Medical Centers. She likes to focus on building relationships with her patients so they are comfortable coming to her with any questions or concerns. She is also always looking for continuing education so as to always be able to give her patients the most up to date medical information. Outside of her work, Ashley loves to be active and outdoors, whether that’s running or hiking.
Dr. Dennis Day is a Chiropractic Doctor at Redirect Health Medical Centers with a focus on physical education and recreation management. He has been practicing in Arizona for over 32 years and is passionate about being a listening ear for his patients and doing his best to find quality solutions. Dr. Day graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing sports, and exercising.

Heather is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Preventative Medicine, Holistic Alternatives, and Mental Health. She provides care at our Glendale and Surprise centers, seeing patients of all ages. Originally from Indianapolis, IN, she gained extensive critical care experience working as an ICU nurse in Phoenix. Heather is dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care to her patients, emphasizing preventive medicine, weight loss, nutrition, and exercise science to promote overall well-being. Heather is passionate about equitable care through open communication and a holistic approach that integrates mental health awareness into her practice, striving to support and empower individuals in their health journeys. In her personal time, she enjoys hanging out with her four children, tending to houseplants, visiting farmer’s markets, thrift shopping, coffee, and weight lifting.
